I rather like the painterly feel to this. The fuzziness gives it a sense of motion. And the painterly-ness (is that a word?) really works in the sense of "creation." I think this piece is great!

wow, really good work. Love the lighting and the atmosphere. My only crit would be the sharp brush strokes of the shoulder. I know it sort of fits the style, but IMO it detracts here, doesn't really go with the smooth skin etc. I think it would have been worthwhile smoothing them out. Otherwise, really good work maggock.

i do love the subtle slow swirling movement that the hair squiggles give the piece - but because i want the priviledge of thwaping you with a wet noodle I will suggest that traditionally women look better painted with small hands - I know the perspective would mean they are bigger(closer) but still it's something to take into account. I'm not saying she has man hands - i just want noodling priviledges

Ah, I've always loved this piece of yours. So pure and innocent. I love the painted quality you have given her skin, but I DO agree about the shoulders being a bit too much so right around the edges and it detracting from the piece a bit. Otherwise, absolutely gorgeous I love the lighting.
